Some states require a waiting period – a delay of hours or days – before a pregnant person can have an abortion in that state.
**Maryland does not require you to go through a waiting period before getting an abortion.**
**If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be notified beforehand of your decision to get an abortion.**
If parental notification is not an option for you, in Maryland abortion providers who are licensed medical doctors can waive this requirement as long as they feel that you're able to consent to the procedure on your own. Ask your abortion provider if they can waive the parental notification requirement for you.
There is no law limiting the availability of abortion based on how far along in pregnancy you are. Check with each abortion provider to find out what their limits are.
